Paint Ball/ Airsoft Face Mask

Now in the game of airsoft if you are under 18 most competitions will not let you play without a face mask. Now safety goggles are mandatory but I recommend to anyone playing to cover their face, that is unless you like swelling and bleeding. And trust me when I say BB's coming at you at 340 FPS hurt.
So this is a Z leader mask, it provides your face with decent cover but on the down side you have less situational awareness and it can be harder to aim your gun. I usually only wear mine when I know my opponents have high powered guns.

True-Spec, Mag Pouch

This is my mag pouch for my M4 mags. It holds 2 per pocket for a grand total of 6. it works very well and has buttons to keep the pocket closed. the only problems with this is that my M4 mags are slightly smaller than the pouch depth therefor sometimes it is tricky to get the mags out.

Camo Tactics

Now if you are playing airsoft or fighting in some foreknown wasteland you have to now what you are doing. In this section I'm discussing the key to camouflage. Lets start with the basics The camo itself, now you have lots to choose from, you have (woodland, Urban Tiger, Tri Color Desert, Tiger Stripe Woodland, Smokey Branch, City, ACU Digital, Ghillie Suites, Marine Digital, Digital Urban, Digital Desert, 6 Color Desert, and Concrete camo. Now I prefer Digital Styles but you need to choose stuff that fits with your surroundings. If your Uniform allows it you may also want to vedge up your camo or place native growing plants and leaves on your uniform.
A lot of what you do on the field effects how well you blend in. As I like to say slow is fast, and fast is slow. when in the woods keep the foliage between you and the enemy. when you move move slow and look where you step. Always move heal to toe and listen to the sounds around you. you always need to stay alert when you move so keeping your mouth slightly open will keep you more alert.
Things to remember are that scent, sound, sight, are major things that effect camouflage. Scent describes how well your sent can be traced, lets just say god help you if their are dogs but for gods sake don't eat a 3 cheese burrito and hide behind enemy lines. Sound is a big one if you make to much noise someone is going to know your their. In every situation their is ambient noise in the background, the key is not to make any noise that is not masked by background noise, so no drums on the battle field. Sight is the major one and this is where camo and not moving much come into play, brake up your outline by wearing good camo and placing your pouches around your vest so they are easily reachable but make sure they are spread out, so no dancing the Tango with an M16 in a read skirt.
The last peace of advice I have is that of a woodland type situation but it can be changed around to fit your needs. when you hide behind foliage remember that the enemy must look into the foliage to see you, so use shadows to your advantage and do not get right up to the front of the foliage, move back a little and look threw the stuff in front of you. And you can clear out a hide about 2 feet back in the foliage, and remember that its harder for someone to see you in your hide because of shadows, depth, and your outline should be broken up.
Always remember to be slow and careful. And my last suggestion is face paint but thats more than I want to get into other than black is great for making longer things seam flat and so on and so forth. Good luck and thanks for reading.

True-Spec, Marine Digital Uniform

Now the bases to any good game of Airsoft or real conflicts period requires good camo. My favorite type of camo is Marine Digital, it blends in with the foliage and screws up the way the eye focuses on you. My friends have noticed that during a game when I'm booking across the field they loose sight of me for a split second, and this is due to the fact that the pattern on the uniform messes with the eye. and when you lay still in foliage your like a ghost.
Now the camo works by confusing what the brain thinks it sees, the brain recognizes different shapes and colors, but the digital confuses the brain by distorting the shape of the body.
Now I don't really care how it works but in this situation it helps you understand what and how you use your surroundings to hide where you are I talk about this more in my camo tactics section.

Under Armor Heat Gear ( loose fit )

This is my under armor I got because i became so sick of running around in the heat and sweating my but off. So around $30 latter I am not feeling so bad after an hours game. The loose stuff works really good and feels like you are running around with silk as thin as paper on, and it is almost that thin. But it is very durable. It helps me stay a little cooler when i have my uniform on, but during a rest if I take my uniform top off I cool off faster than it takes me to reload my gun. Now I am no expert on how the stuff works nor do I care that much but I'm just glad the manufacturer knows what their doing because I enjoy something that does what it says it does.

TAG Dump pouch

This Magazine dump pouch by tactical assault gear is very nice. the pouch fits snugly on the belt attached to my Vest. it Velcros on and then snaps around to ensure it will stay. I was lucky to get this in Marine digital because it seams everywhere i look they only have the Army crap, but I found this on e-bay what luck. The pouch can hold around 8-10 Mags securely, and features a special Net on top that allows Mags in but not out. and for some serious running and moving the pouch has an adjustable mouth that can be shrunken down.
The pouch allows me to quickly change my ammo without worrying about where in the world i left my empty mags on the game field. that and I got a little sick of placing empty mags back in my mag pouch, it was 12 times slower and I'd lose track of witch ones where full. I hope this pouch holds up to the wear and tear on it because I will never go onto the airsoft field without it.

Smith & Westson 4505

This spring gun shoots at 302 FPS, and has a magazine capacity of 12, the gun weighs 12.8 oz. and is 10.3 inches long. it can be bought from Air SOCOM for $35.95. This gun is owned by Kyle and despite its looks is very useful. We do not like the fact that it is clear but hay its a side arm who cares, and for being just a side arm it is very powerful. the downfall to the gun is its mags, they only hold 12 and yes this is realistic but when you loose half the mag because the BB's fall out It gets a little annoying, but I think the company who makes them realizes this so the throw in an extra mag for you lol. other than that the gun feels like the real deal, and nothing has broken. it is extremely accurate for something of its size, and it gets my vote.
Out of ten the gun gets a 7 for reliability mostly due to the mags, It gets a 9 for ease of use, a 9 for range, 9 for speed, 9 for durability, 9 for accuracy, 8 for cost, 8 for fear factor, and 5 for versatility. over all the gun receives a 8 out of ten.

Mp5 SD5

This gun Is is made by well and is definitely better than other guns I have used by them. It belongs to Shane Our Engineer. The gun was $24.95, It shoots at 220 FPS, has an adjustable hop-up, It uses 50 round Mags that fire 6 mm Plastic rounds. The gun is made of almost all ABS plastic and the only mettle parts I notice are the sights. the gun feels durable but poses no serious threat to an opponent. one problem Shane has had with this gun is that the mock silencer has broke and it does not secure to the gun all the way and it wobbles around and deflects the BB's. the gun came with one rail mount connected to the barrel so we just took it off and put it on top for a scope. when the gun fires it goes threw ammo like my brother in-hails food so I recommend buying more mags. I personally would not buy this gun just because I like more of a rifle platform and not an SMG, But in CQB the gun pays up and kicks but especially in clearing buildings because after all that is what the gun was built for.
Out of ten the gun scores a 9 for reliability, 9 for ease of use, 7 for range, 7 for speed, 6 for durability, accuracy scores at a 7, cost scores at a 9, fear factor scores at a 4, and versatility scores at a 6. over all the gun gets a 7 out of ten.

( gun Update as of 22 Dec. 08
Gun has completely snapped in half.)

JLS SM6 Spring Powered Sniper

This bad boy belongs to our sniper Justin, It was $24.99 and shoots at 390 FPS, The Mag holds 50 rounds, and its max range is about 220 ft. This gun is very nice to have on your side even though it is not the most accurate. let me just say that though made of almost entirely of ABS plastic this gun is durable and always hits the target when you need it to. it's small bull-pup design makes it perfect for cramped places. On the down side the charging bolt for the gun is hard to pull back and Justin notices that during prolonged firefights his hands start to hurt. one more down side to the gun is heavy due to their being sand bags in the stock, but this makes it feel more realistic. The guns barrel has broken off multiple times and has had to be replaced. over all the layout of the gun makes you wounder if this is more of a sniper platform or a rifle? but then again because of this layout it allows for more versatility in the field.
Out of ten the gun scores a 9 in Reliability, Range, Speed, Cost, And Fear Factor. it scored a 7 in ease of use and accuracy, an 9 for Versatility . And an 7 for durability. Over all the gun gets an 8 out of a possible 10.

Double Eagle M83 M4A2

This gun is not bad considering its price tag. for around $39.99 this gun fires on semi auto and full auto. it shoots at about 210 FPS and shoots about 400 Rounds per minute. the Mags for the gun hold 40 rounds. this gun has a collapsible stock and has an integrated rail system on the barrel. It uses a Hop-up system accessed by Flipping down the dust cover for the cartage ejection. The gun is very reliable. personally i hate this gun but Kyle loves it so much he bought ten more mags. I despise the fact that their is a small button on the pistol grip that must be pushed in order for the gun to fire. The gun is made of 98% plastic and parts have broken off. i do not like the way that the Mags for the gun are, compared to my gun witch by the way are the same type (M4A1), This means that we can not share ammo and in the field thats a big problem. The gun also has a very limited range and the BB's slow down a lot.
But on the plus side because Kyle has so many Mags the gun is definitely a force multiplier in a small sense. Take for example in a flanking maneuver that you need a lot of suppressive fire and you don't have a SAW gunner. At lest you have a guy with tons of ammo able to lay down 400 Round a minuet. And this gun is extremely accurate and for gods sake why shoot if you know you will not hit the bulls eye so this gun pases.
Out of ten for Reliability the gun scores a 9. for Ease of use it scores a 9, for Range a 5, for speed it scores a five, durability it gets a 2, accuracy it gets an 8, Versatility gets an 8, cost it gets a 10 and fear factor it gets a 2. So the average score for the gun is a 6.

Condor Molle Vest

This vest is made by condor and is the only way I survive a game of air soft. Let me tell you that when in a fire fight it is good to know you have all your ammo and gear where you need it.This has 6 rows of MOLLE webbing on the front and 6 rows on the back. and it has Velcro on the front and rear for ID strips. It has loops for a belt on the bottom that i have taken advantage of. I Have found that the Zipper that holds it together is plastic and is a pain in my rear. their is webbing inside for multiple uses I've been creative with it I don't recommend using it for a hydration bladder.
I've added Mag pouches that hold my 6 mags for my M4A1 and I've added my pistol holster and I've added a grenade pouch I use for holding an ammo canister. I love using this vest and will use it until it cant be anymore, you will never find me without it on the field. I give this vest a perfect 10/10 for being so versatile.

Stinger P9

This little fellow is made by Crosman and it comes with a holster camo ammo and a mag it is fired using a spring air repeater and shoots .12 gram 6 mm plastic BB's, it max velocity is around 275 FPS, its 7.25 in. long and weighs 10 oz. . I love this gun a lot, it is the perfect side arm for anyone, it is feels durable and is reliable. the holster fits on my vest
belt very easily. I love the way that the Mag holds 80 rounds and easily reloads by filling up the feed slit. their is a little rod that when the last round is fired in the firing slit it holds the slide open allowing you easier reload. the mag drop lever is below the trigger. and the safety is on the upper right side. My favorite thing is the realistic slide. The extra pouch on the front of the holster is perfect for holding a speed
loader. The only downside to this gun is that the accuracy at farther ranges is not so good and in order to reload the mag you need to shake it and that makes noise and noise is a no.
out of ten, the gun scores a 9 for reliability, for ease of use it gets a 8, the range scores a 6, Speed scores an 7, Durability scores a 10, accuracy gets a 6, cost scores at a 9, versatility scores at a 5, and fear factor gets a 7. All together the gun scores a 7 out of 10

Combat Cammando Shotgun

This shotgun is not mine but it is my team member Cameron's. He loves it and it is a definite force multiplier. It costs about $64, The gun is made by UTG and shoots out three plastic 6 mm BB's at a time, he has eight shells that each hold 30 rounds. it shoots 290 FPS using .20 gram rounds. The gun is made of ABS plastic with some metal parts it is spring loaded so it must be charged like a real shotgun after every shot. After reading on airsplat how the gun succeeds in firing a consistent spread of three rounds each shot i was impressed. i think the gun is extremely solid and performs exceptionally well. The shells it uses look exactly like the real deal and the only down side to them is that they are brightly colored. Cameron has said that the gun is a "challenged" in that it is unlike a rifle and takes some getting used to. he feels that the spread of the rounds are to fare apart hindering its firing ability. The gun does however pose a challenge to the guy on the receiving end and trust me i have been their. dodging 3 rounds from one gun is not that bad until you do it wile fending off two other guys. one thing we have learned is to not use .12 gram rounds in this gun because they drift slowly.
Out of ten, The gun scores a 9 for Reliability, Ease of use and fear factor. it scores an 8 for range, Speed and Durability. it scores a 4 for accuracy and 7 for cost, and it gets a 5 for versatility. So together the gun scores a 7 out of ten.

M4A1 Carbine

This gun is my favorite gun! The gun is made by JG, and weighs 7 lbs and 52 oz. and is about 3.13 ft. long. It fires 6 mm. plastic BB's I recommend using .20 gram BB's. It shoots around 330-340 FPS, and can shoot 500/1000 round per min. The gun fires using a full metal gearbox and has sustained performance. it uses a hop-up system that is accessed by pulling the charging handle. Me and my older brother Jeff Who has his own blog "Gear Geek's" both have this gun and love it. For about $120 this gun is very well made. The only down side of this gun is that my barrel wobbles up and side to side, not very much but it can be noticed. however my brothers gun does not wobble. another problem I have with my gun is that the collapsible stock was extremely hard to get on and I had to use different bolts than what came with it. my brothers did not have that problem maybe because his is an adjustable stock. what I love about this gun is that it out ranges and out shoots my best hopes for an air soft gun, it is compact durable and it feels like you can win the game yourself. The range and speed of this gun is spectacular and i love being able to reach out and touch someone from 100 plus yards, and they never know you are their. my single fire selector is screwed up and shoots on auto but i get used to working the trigger.
This gun has never let me down and has survived some intense Air Soft games consisting of being slammed into the mud. on the down side I wish everyone could afford guns like these.
Out of ten this gun gets a 9 for reliability, 9 for ease of use, 9 for range, 9 for speed, 9 for durability, 9 for accuracy, 7 for cost, 9 for fear factor, and a 8 for versatility. over all the gun receives an 8 out of ten.

(Gun update as of 22 Dec. 08
The gun has been giving me a bit of trouble lately so im replacing it, it has been miss-firing so much it is driving me insane. o and the range and acuracy have worn out.)

P-90 Gun Review

This is my P-90 made by well it was around $4o, it uses 6 mm plastic BB's it shoots at 120 FPS and comes with scope and mock silencer. its effective range is maybe 10 Ft and is a starter gun. The gun is very difficult to use and inaccurate. it has many features that lead to its downfall. First of all the mag used by this gun is a 400 round high cap mag that when loaded makes so much noise it is useless in CQB or anything requiring stealth. The mag also only works wile it is aimed in an up position, and because it is not spring loaded there is no pressure on the BB's therefor it feeds horribly and jams. Wile using biodegradable BB's the gun jammed extremely bad and still does not function properly.
Out of ten the gun rates a 4 on reliability, 7 on Ease of use, 2 on range, 4 on speed, 5 on durability, 1 on accuracy, 7 on cost, 1 for versatility, and 2 on fear factor. The gun scores a 3 out of a possible ten.
